Conscious Sedation
If you are interested in a light yet effective form of sedation, our dentists may recommend conscious sedation. Sometimes called oral sedation or light sedation, conscious sedation involves taking a pill before your appointment with Drs. Adams, Haws, and Evans. We will provide you with instructions on how early you should take your pill; this time window may vary from the night before your treatment to half an hour before, depending on your specific needs. By the time you come to our office for your visit, you will feel calm and at ease. Oral sedation helps you remain comfortable and relaxed during your treatment at our office, even if you normally suffer from dental anxiety or phobia.
Conscious sedation is safe and effective. We will carefully monitor you throughout your treatment, and you will remain conscious and able to respond to any questions or directions from our dentists. You may feel drowsy following your treatment, but the effects typically wear off within just a few hours after your appointment. You will likely have little to no memory of your treatment.
